State Tax Corruption in Washington

If it were anybody other than the State of Washington (or other state government) doing this sort of price fixing, they would be sitting in jail. How is it that "We The People" allow these state governments to ply their corruption and steal more of our money?

A government-to-government agreement on tribal cigarette tax rates will give the Yakama Nation eight more years to raise tribal taxes to a rate closer to that levied by the state of Washington. The state collects a tax of $20.25 per carton. Under the new agreement, the tribe would ramp up its current tax of $16.20 per carton to $17.75 over eight years.
